No one throws a bigger tantrum than a narcissist confronted with clear facts and undeniable evidence of something they absolutely did.
Narcissists survive on the illusion that they are always right, always superior, and never at fault. When you confront them with undeniable proof-screenshots, recordings, witnesses-it doesn't lead to accountability.
Instead, it sparks an explosive reaction.
First comes rage. They might shout, insult you, or accuse you of being obsessed. Next is denial. Even when the evidence is crystal clear, they'll twist reality to avoid responsibility: "That's not what happened," "You misunderstood," or "You're making a big deal out of nothing."
If rage and denial fail, they pivot to playing the victim.
Suddenly, you are cruel for daring to hold them accountable.
They may cry, claim you're attacking them, or tell everyone you're unstable. This tactic shifts attention away from their behaviour and onto your supposed "overreaction."
No matter how obvious the facts, a narcissist's ego can't tolerate exposure. They'd rather destroy relationships and reputations than admit they were wrong.
Remember: You're not crazy for recognising the truth. Evidence is your anchor. Don't let their tantrums convince you to doubt what you know happened.
